Storyline

Alicia coaches new associate Caitlin D'arcy in her first court-like appearance, an arbitration hearing. Opposing counsel is Martha Reed who Alicia had hoped to hire but was forced to hire Caitlin instead. The case revolves around a college professor, Pamela Raker, who claims she was fired after resisting the advances of her department head. When Alicia and Caitlin gain the upper hand, Martha calls in her boss - none other than Alicia's old nemesis, Louis Canning. Wendy Scott-Carr pursues her case against Will Gardner and they hire Cary's friend, Andrew Wiley, as an investigator. Eli is feeling unloved at the firm. He decides to help out Will. Alicia and Peter face a crisis when daughter Grace disappears. Written by garykmcd

Wendy Scott-Carr is sinking the ship
18 February 2012 | by (United States) – See all my reviews

Some decent developments this episode. In the course of trying to prove a Alicia and Kalinda are starting to work together again. We get more information on the investigation into Will Gardner, and Alicia goes after Cary when he locks up Kalinda. Kalinda and Alicia have the best chemistry on the show. And having Peter and Alicia interacting again is also a plus. He appears human with her - which is a stark contrast to how he appears in every other context. Plus, the relationship with Will was getting boring - exactly what the relationship between two would-have-been college sweethearts turns out when both parties are adults. But talk about jumping the shark! I can't tell if it's the character or the actress, but Wendy Scott-Carr comes out of nowhere with this slimy agenda and a holier-than-though patina. Makes me want to turn off the TV every time she enters the room. What the heck is this character doing on the canvas?
