Storyline

Harry's work colleague Justine Thompson is murdered in her house with her daughter Gemma whilst her stepson Charlie, also attacked, lies in a coma. Baby daughter Ellie, however, is unharmed. Husband Stuart is prime suspect but he has an alibi and his grief seems genuine. The post mortem shows that Gemma was pregnant and the team learns that Justine once needed a restraining order against Stuart's brother Kevin, who was obsessed with her. Mrs Barron, the lady from next door who found the bodies, finds evidence on her son Joel's computer that Gemma and Charlie were lovers as Joel rides off to see Kevin. Written by don @ minifie-1

A different side to Neil Maskell, very good opener.

Forensic receptionist Justine is found murdered, her daughter Gemma is also found dead. Her stepson Charlie is found heavily beaten, but still alive, baby daughter Ellie still alive. Known to Harry and Nikki, Harry more so, Justine's husband Stuart is prime suspect. Stuart's debts have spiralled out of control, he's close to losing the lot. Investigating the case is DI Ronson, he comes with his own personal problems, his wife has just left him. Justine's boss Gill Bailey becomes interested in Leo, she tells the team how Stuart's brother Kevin paid Justine unwanted attention and was asked to stop. Stuart has a cast iron alibi, attentions switch to brother Kevin. Justine's neighbour Deborah finds some worrying images on son Joel's PC.

A complex story, made more interesting by the fact that the victims are known to Harry. Different because we have three victims, the attack on Justine is so brutal, Gemma's death is at odds.

Nice to see a different side to Harry too, we've always seen him as very straight laced and serious, underneath there's seemingly more to him.

Great to see Neil Maskell showing he can act, that he's not just the hard man, his performance as Stuart is one of the best I've seen from him, he is excellent throughout.

Lots of interesting elements to Domestic, after Part 1 i'm left with no clue as to who or why, engaging. 8/10
