The survivors have spent a difficult winter moving from place to place trying to stay clear of the walkers and constantly looking for food. Lori is now at the advanced stage of her pregnancy but it's obvious that she and Rick aren't getting along. When they notice a prison in the distance, Rick convinces them it may be just what they're looking for with the possibility of food and medicine being available. They have to fight their way in, eliminating a large number of walkers but they soon settle into a secure prison block. Several of them set off to explore the prison but are soon surrounded by walkers. They aren't the only survivors in the prison either. Written by

This is the first episode of the third season of AMC's brilliant, critically-favored horror drama, The Walking Dead. This is a fantastic first episode as we see the plight out characters are in, especially after leaving the farm. Though last season was mostly a slow-burner, we might be in for a change this season. This is action-packed, full of walker violence, lots of gore, and some intense character drama.
In this episode, "Seed," the gang has survived a long winter as they have been going house to house. Lori is now in her final stages of pregnancy, but it's clear Rick has been cold towards her. Rick sees a prison where he believes they will be able to seek shelter and find supplies, but they must fight through a horde of walkers on the prison property. But once inside, they realize they may not be alone.....
Overall, this is a fantastic beginning to what seems to be an excellent season. There is no shortage of action, but there is some moving character drama. I got emotional when Herschel's daughters sang a song their mother used to sing to them around the campfire. But as started from the previous season and heading into this season, Rick is becoming a cold-hearted person and we shall see how that plays out. I rate this episode 10/10.
