Did You Know?

The song "Dominique" that plays constantly in the common room was not chosen at random. Jeanine Deckers - also known as "Soeur Sourire" or "The Singing Nun" had recorded the song to raise money for her convent's mission in Brussels. She eventually left the order to be with her lover, a novice nun eleven years younger than herself. When the two took their own lives together in 1985 she was deeply in debt for the taxes owed on the over $100,000 in royalties the iconic song earned. Money she never saw a cent of, as all profits continued to go to the Catholic church.See more »

A strong start for season 2!, 25 March 2014

*** This review may contain spoilers ***

A strong start for season two. Different story, and characters, but same actors. The story line is set inside an asylum, which is scary. Strong characters, a mean nun, famous killer, reporter etc who are interesting, hated, loved. The characters have a right mix for good mechanics for plot devices for season 2. Interesting watching actors for season 2 playing different roles, in a different time period. The story goes to present also! Many questions are asked in the Welcome to Briarcliff episode which keeps the viewer wanting to know more. Each character has their own personal story which keeps the story line interesting. I give Welcome to Briarcliff an eight out of ten.
