Sex & Nudity

  • Female characters have mild jiggle physics on butt and boob areas.

Violence & Gore

  • Shooting enemies has rather bloody results, ranges from moderate to graphic
  • Some gory and brutal death animations but not as bad as The Callisto Protocol or Dead Space death animations
  • If leon gets caught by Dr Salvador (the chainsaw man), he thrusts his chainsaw down his stomach and proceeds to cut leon up from his shoulder, lots of blood is shown, but there's no gore
  • Much, much, MUCH more graphically violent, bloodier and gorier than the original.
  • The violence is much stronger than the original game, and is overall more graphic than all of the Resident Evil games ever made except for Resident Evil 7.
  • The violence is far more graphic, photorealistic and gritty than in the 2005 original version of the game.
  • This is the most violent Resident Evil game aside from Resident Evil 7, which has much more sadistic and explicit torture-related violence. Expect lots of shooting and dismemberment in this game rather than that.
  • Severe.
  • If this game were a movie it would be rated R for Strong Bloody Violence and gore, and Some Language.

Profanity

  • Strong language is present in the game spoken in both English and Spanish
  • While the original game has some occasional strong language in Spanish, there is several uses of strong language in English in the remake, with some uses of "Fuck" in dialogue, alongside milder words such as " shit", "bitch", " asshole" are used. The language is on par with that in the Resident Evil 3 remake.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • Some characters are seen smoking.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • This game while more action oriented is more intense than the original version as the enemies move and attack faster than before, the original game is very tame compared to this, the tone is very similar to that of Resident Evil Village (2021)
  • Very creepy and haunting atmosphere, a lot scarier than the original game
  • Not the scariest game, but the action theme works in its favour, but still very intense moments, and scary scenes, but not as scary as re 7, or the re 2 remake, which is very suspenseful horror.
  • A large portion of this games horror aspect comes out of the terrifying enemies you'll be facing throughout the game.

Spoilers

The Parents Guide items below may give away important plot points.

Sex & Nudity

  • When Luis is in the process of dying he says "and such a loss to the ladies too."
  • Leon and Ada have a few flirtatious moments throughout the game. During a scene after defeating Ramon Salazar, Ada offers Leon a boat ride to the industrial island. Before departing, Ada says "Don't think too hard, handsome." referring to Leon.

Violence & Gore

  • At the very beginning a woman is ritually sacrificed, some blood is seen on her chest and face as people surround her, a man behind her then raises an axe and she is then killed (impact is heard but not seen), blood is then seen trickling down an altar and the scene suddenly ends.
  • As Leon investigates a cabin, a man sneaks up from behind him, however Leon does manage to dodge the attack but kicks the man into a wall, the man's neck violently snaps and his head is turned completely sideways, however the man isn't dead and is shot later.
  • Mutilating certain enemies allows the parasite that infects them to be seen.
