The content of this page was created directly by users and has not been screened or verified by IMDb staff.
Since the beliefs that parents want to instill in their children can vary greatly, we ask that, instead of adding your personal opinions about what is right or wrong in a film, you use this feature to help parents make informed viewing decisions by describing the facts of relevant scenes in the title for each one of the different categories: Sex and Nudity, Violence and Gore, Profanity, Alcohol/Drugs/Smoking, and Frightening/Intense Scenes.

Rockstar Games has put a lot of sex/nudity in past GTA games, however this game is not the worst one made yet.

There is one scene in which female breasts are briefly shown but this is not present in the European, Brazilian, Korean, American, and Australian retail versions of the game due to conflict between Rockstar and the ERSB Board for Children's safety.

There are sexual scenes throughout the game, that are not that explicit, that are parts of the main story line or "campaign."

In one scene, a man and a woman have sex standing up and bent over a table. The two are shown from the side and from behind. While the woman is fully clothed, the man's buttock is exposed. The man thrusts and grunts. This is a cut-scene like many of the other sexual scenes. Since it is a cut-scene, the player can skip it at any time

In another scene, the player is required to film two celebrities having sex in an effort to create a sex-tape. The two engaged in the act are bent over a lawn table outside, the man behind the woman, and the man thrusts while the woman views her cell phone. There is sexual dialogue. The woman is fully clothed but the man's buttocks and hips are exposed. This goes on for about 15-30 seconds or so.

The player is free (but not required by the game) to participate in sexual activities in the game, including visiting the one in game strip club.

In the strip club, the player is free (but not required) to view strippers perform erotic dance moves and throw money at them. Here the women are clothed (top and bottom) in lingerie. The player may also pay the stripper money to perform a "private dance" in a back room, during which the woman is completely topless, fully exposing her breasts. She is still clothed in lingerie on her bottom half.

Overall there are not that many sexual situations, and in online the only thing you can do is go to the strip club, however there is a bouncer who only lets you in if you have rights which you get from a job.

There is a completely random encounter in single player where a man tries to assault a woman. You have to kill the man before this happens and you can drive the girl back to her home.

Much of the violence is played for comedy, although bloody. People are killed in a variety of ways with bloody results.

Players can shoot enemy and cops to death.

By the book mission contains torture, and it is quiet intense to watch. Man is mistreated, begs for mercy. He can be drown, electrocuted, his teeth ripped out due to dental torture or you can break his kneecaps or his penis.

There is violence throughout the entirety of Grand Theft Auto V. Nearly every level or mission in the game features some form of violence be it lethal or not. When someone is killed, blood emerges from the body. When a person is shot with a gun, a bullet wound appears in the place that he/she was hit. There are gruesome scenes of violence throughout the main story including people falling into grinding machines and being chopped to bits (much blood is shown) and a woman is sucked into a jet turbine and her bloody remains are spit out the other side.

One scene shows large gory hole open in a man's head as he is shot.

Players are free to run people over with vehicles on the streets of Los Santos.

Players may arbitrarily kill any other person in the game. There are no children present, but any adult may be killed at will.

GTA 5 is the first game where animals are present, including dogs, cats, chickens, birds, cows etc and they can all be killed in the same ways as humans.

Most of the explicit violence is in cut-scenes and can be skipped

Its a GTA game, so you expect the same amount of profanity as the other games in the series. Some terms include Fuck (which is said over 1000 times in the campaign), Shit, Bitch, Asshole, Piss, Dammit, Goddammit, Jesus Christ and Hell are used throughout. Ruder terms like Cunt (only said 6 times in the main campaign) and Nigger/Nigga are also used.

Nearly every profane term one could think up is featured in GTA V.

Keep in mind the campiagn is about ten hours long, longer than any movie, which would make the language not as frequent.

About 90 percent of the language is in the cut-scenes and can be skipped at will of the player.

There are a few missions involving drug trades and deals.

The use of alcohol, drugs and smoking is featured throughout the bulk of the game.

Scenes in the story mode include hallucinating various absurdities like killer clowns and aliens, getting drunk in bars (bar fights due to intoxication also present), being drugged with a hallucinogenic agent by others, constant smoking of cigarettes by most characters, participating in drug deals and large scale drug trafficking, and characters snorting cocaine.

The player is also free during free-roaming to drink alcohol to the point of drunkenness and get high on various drugs. These produce hazy effects on the screen and impair player movement.

You are not once obligated or forced to do drugs in this game

Many scenes in the game can be considered intense.

In one graphic scene, the player is forced to torture a captive to extract information. Various graphic torture methods are used and this particular mission may be difficult for some players to experience.

Another scene graphically shows a man being burned alive until he is dead. The man screams in agony throughout.

There is one scene with a ghost that is quite intense.

The tone in general is darkly comedic and satirical. Heists are also tense. Some of the gunfights may be intense.
