Tessa arrives at school in a new Escalade, and says she has $3 million under her bed. There are two plot holes here. The first involves each conspirator getting one third of the ten million or 3.33 million. Since lawyers were involved, the net amount would be far less than ten million, likely around six million, which would net each conspirator two million.

The second involved Tessa expressing concern over putting the money in a bank due to it raising flags. Since Carpenter was the initial recipient and banks do not keep millions in cash on hand, he would have received a check, and he would have had to transfer the funds to Tessa and Juliet in the same manner. Cashing or depositing a check of that amount would raise flags (any transfers over ten thousand are reported), especially since Tessa was a juvenile. While it was not stated what Juliet did with her money, a similar issue arises as to how she deposited it since she is also a juvenile. See more »
