It's been 20 years and Harry Dunn has found something out - he has a daughter! Lloyd Christmas, his equally dim-witted friend, takes one look at a picture of her, develops a crush, and insists the two track her down. What ensues when Harry finally agrees is a bizarre encounter with an old lady and more hilarity because of their sheer stupidity. Written by
Jennifer Lawrence is actually a fan of Dumb and Dumber, and was rumored to originally be cast as the long-lost daughter for whom they go searching. See more »
When Lloyd meets Pennie for the first time he reaches into the fountain behind him to grab some loose change for a meal. He proceeds to put the wet coins into his right pocket, however it is obvious this is a re-take because his pocket already shows a wet patch before he puts the money inside. See more »
SPOILER: After the end credits, Harry and Lloyd are riding in the Zamboni, complaining that they got the wrong milkshakes (when in fact, they are drinking each others' milkshakes). They toss them backwards for the shakes to hit the truck of their old nemesis Sea Bass. He follows them as a text comes up for a faux fourth installment, "Dumb and Dumber For", coming in the summer of 2034, followed by a camouflaged Captain Lippencott walking out of the text. See more »
I laughed from beginning to end and I clapped, as did the THEATER!
This is probably the second comedy I've seen now where the critics and many other people surrounding it were saying how terrible it was. I was not bored for a second. my gut was hurting from laughter! I was a huge fan of the original. I grew up with Harry and LLoyd, the two dumb butts, and I missed seeing them, so I got what i wanted, a sequel after 20 years of waiting! It all starts with LLoyd being in a Nursing Home (psychotic center) and has been crazy for all these years, or so Harry and everyone had thought! The whole time it turned out it was a prank. One of the best pranks ever! Then it introduces where it left off 20 years ago. Introducing a lot of the old characters and getting to see the changes made to the house etc. Then we get straight into the plot. Harry receives a letter that he did not open 20 years ago (how dumb) and he finds out he is a father and has a daughter and him and LLoyd embark on a huge road trip to find her.
Nothing can describe to you how Happy and how much I laughed hysterically at this movie. It was so good to see Jim Carey and Jeff Daniels back on screen together playing the two butt holes, Harry and Lloyd. I enjoyed every second of it! And yet, i see it has awards for worst Male image, Worst Picture etc. I can't see how. I thought it was hilarious, as did the rest of my theater. I clapped at the end and as did the other people in the theater! A hysterical ride. I would watch it, over and over, and over again. Great that they did a sequel! Brought back so many memories! 10/10
By the way, everyone keeps bragging about how this movie will be getting loads of nominations at the razzie Awards, but I bet everybody all the money in the world, The razzies wont give this movie one nomination!
