User Reviews

Slow, poorly written, boring movie with pretty scenery.
8 May 2013 | by (New York, United States) – See all my reviews

Some beautiful footage of the New Mexico desert was the high point of the film. Very exposition heavy dialog and lack of anything happening weigh on heavily on the film. The movie to me was sold as "Slow burning", but many of the large plot points are clumsily revealed and then re-hashed long before their time. Much of the time the actors seem more like bearded hipsters than grizzled post-war cowboys. The editing lets scenes drag well past the moment they should have been dead and buried and inadequately jumps between different nonsensical pieces of b-roll.

Still though: the cast occasionally rises above the script, editing, cinematography to create some lovely moments and a reasonably satisfying ending.
