Before the Anschluss
Travelogues were long a popular subject for films, from the earliest Lumiere pictures through the end of the studio era. The best remembered are probably James Fitzpatrick's Traveltalks, shot for MGM from 1930 through the early 1940s, but just about every major and minor studio had a few on hand to round out a program.
This one, about Vienna just before the Anschluss with Germany, is a typical black and white travelogue. We are offered much architecture, a brief lecture on the city's history and some examples of the city's industry (needlepoint), celebrities (including Franz Lehar) and amusements (coffeehouses and skating). The cinematography is as competent as any travelogue and the background music includes Wagner, and Strauss waltzes. Of most interest is a view of the Ferris Wheel that figured so prominently a dozen years later in THE THIRD MAN.
