Storyline

Both Gibbs and Fornell answer a call for help from Diane, their mutual ex-wife; her current husband, Victor (an employee of Homeland Security), has disappeared; Tony reports a hit on Victor's credit card at a burger joint the night before, then McGee reports a recent 911 call about a bloodbath at the same place; the gang investigate. Tony and Ziva tell that Victor appears to be a suspect rather than a victim; Abby and a friend announce what Victor stole; McGee finds more secrets; Gibbs, Fornell, and Tony find Victor, who expresses relief and reveals the intent of the bad guys. The team plus Fornell go to a football stadium just before a major game; they find the bad guys, and they deal with them. Fornell tells Vance the motive for the criminal activity. Later Diane approaches Gibbs in his basement, and they have a concluding chat, during which she hands him a watch. Written by DocRushing

Diane: I want you to look into it... Okay, I know what you guys are thinking, but Victor is not the kind of man to just disappear.
Special Agent Jethro Gibbs: Not sure how to say this.
Tobias C. Fornell: I do!... Look, we are not your personal buddy cop investigative service.
Diane: No, you're just my ex-husbands, and I need your help.

The Gibbs-Fornell Twosome
2 November 2011 | by (United States) – See all my reviews

I think the camaraderie between Gibbs and Fornell should be developed more. They have a comedic timing that works extremely well. I don't remember the episode title, but I especially liked the scene when Fornell was cooking Italian at Gibbs' house. When Gibbs came home and picked up the dishes to bring to Fornell in the kitchen, he was actually giddy at having a home cooked meal. That is an emotion we rarely see from Gibbs. Then Fornell asked him if he was going to wash his hands before dinner just like a housewife that was home cooking all day sweating over a hot stove. It was just too cute. Also, the time Fornell brought home dinner, which was suppose to be hamburgers but wasn't, and they both ended up eating cereal, because what he did bring home was so awful. I can see them as an odd couple of sorts. Just a little food for thought.
