2011 was a great season of baseball especially if you're a fan of the team with the Birds on the bat logo across there chest. As of early September it was viewed that the Cardinals had no chance at all of making the playoffs. But they then pretty much just flipped a switch and came alive in a way they weren't all season to that point. Getting contributions from everyone in the lineup whether if it is the big stars like Albert Pujols, Matt Holliday and Lance Berkman or the young guys like Allen Craig, David Freese and Jon Jay.
Chris Carpenter after a slow start to 2011 never let up and got back to being the pitbull and never back down type of pitcher he's always been.
Yadier Molina showed why he was one of the most underrated catchers in baseball with his best offensive season and another season of stellar defense.
