Rural fireman Paul Satterfield is murdered shortly after a heroic fire rescue and abandoned in a marsh. Patrick suffers partial amnesia after near-drowning at the hands of a hooded man who hid there. Satterfield knew about his loveless wife's adultery with a colleague and never followed the rules, which was hell on his partner. Patrick also takes an interest in a concurrent bank-robbery nearby. Having forgotten about his family, Patrick also relapses into his medium con act. Finally he sets a trap, but now not without ulterior motive. Written by KGF Vissers
This episode was absolutely fantastic, and like i said one of the best episodes of 'The Mentalist' ever!
It was funny, clever, smart, emotional; everything one could expect from a 'Mentalist' episode, just brilliant. This was the first time that Randall Zisk directed an episode of this show and i have to admit that he did a marvellous job.
The episode was written by none other than Daniel Cerone who as well as being one of the main executive producers of the show since 2010, has wrote 8 episodes (this being his 7th), among them are 'Jolly Red Elf' and 'Red Queen', the former of which is one of the funnest episodes of the show and the latter (one of my all time favs) one of the better, darker episodes. With these 2 forces together along with Baker's incredible acting skills and the amazing premise, this episode has to be in the top-5 for the 4th season and top 30 overall.
Also Zisk is returning to direct his 2nd Mentalist episode, which will be the season 5 premier..this i do not think is a great executive decision as the premiere always gets the ball rolling for a season in any show so how wise is it to hand such an important episode over to a rookie? But it will, for the 5th time be written by Bruno Heller so he will keep an eye on things so all should be fine.
Anyway, a terrific episode, have to give it 10/10!
