Storyline

Young Pete Delano witnesses his classmate getting hit by a car and resuscitated by the local police and firemen, he then turns to his mother and says when he grows up, he wants to be one of "them". We witness Pete going through the police academy and he rises through the ranks quickly to detective. He receives a caveat from a retired cop that he should watch his back and realize his fellow officers aren't as straight and narrow as he is. During a drug bust, Pete is faced with the ultimate choice - come to the dark side or become a statistic. Pete's decision is the great reveal! Written by Alex Corrado

"Hero" very well done
28 October 2011 | by See all my reviews

"Hero" is a great looking and well acted short.Considering it was shot in 2 days, the story works, it looks great, and the actors did a great job! Buddy Hayes is great in his first starring role as Pete Delano,he has the matinée idol looks that remind you of the golden days of cinema.Too bad we couldn't shoot the other scenes that were deleted from the original script,we would have had a better comprehension of the character of Pete Delano. Veteran actors Lou Martini Jr. and Louis Vanaria do a great job as the corrupt cops and Frank Gio as the old retired cop is refreshing playing a role where he's not a mafioso for a change. Ava Madara and Anthony Pierini are great as the two children in the opening scene,as were their mother's Samantha Ryan Maisano and Danielle Battista, respectively. All in all,"Hero" was well done and kept you wanting more.Nothing shines as bright as Doug Schneider's nose in the warehouse scene.
