Abed is Batman now - Christian Bale
giantpanther29 March 2012
Any community episode that involves Abed dressing up as Batman is an instant classic in my opinion. The two main plot-lines in this episode are that Annie breaks Abed and Troy's exclusive Dark Knight DVD and lies about it causing Abed to go vigilante to discover the truth. Meanwhile Jeff and Shirley get involved in some foosball competition and in the process discover that they share some similar memories.

Highlights from this episode include - as mentioned before Batman Abed, but also Jeff and Shirley morph into Anime characters when they play each other at foosball and some hostility arises.

Also at the very end Leonard gives a review of some pizza, which is funny, Leonard is a good side character.

I did not like Community overall the 1st time

Warning: Spoilers
I watched the episodes...but a few episodes were good enough that I revisited all of them...and absolutley love the show. Easily 1 of my top ten all time. Very easy to watch over and over again.

However...this episode may be my least favorite of seasons 1 thru 4...wait...no. Intro to felt was in season 4. This may be my 2nd least favorite episode.

Season 5 was rough. And 6 should never have existed.

Shirley is my least favorite character...and this story line makes me dislike her even more.

I can't even watch Intro to felt at all. I completely skip it. This episode...I skip over Shirley's parts.

My rating scale...a 7 means it's rewatchable. I could almost give this a 6...but I think the batman storyline is great. And Nick Kroll as the German is good.

The scene was a special challenge to all involved...

Warning: Spoilers
I laughed big time with Annie attempting to imitate Christian Bale's commentary for the broken Dark Knight DVD, "The scene was a special challenge to all involved." The other serious plot was Jeff and Shirley realizing their childhoods intersected in a traumatic way in foosball. The anime scene was almost kind of overdone.

Britta and Pierce hardly appear in this episode.

This was a fairly mediocre episode of Community. The premise of Annie breaking The Dark Knight DVD did not make much sense. If it is a rare item, why leave it on the floor where it is likely to be stepped on? I have hundreds of DVDs and have never been so irresponsible with them. Of course this is a comedy, but a little reality would be welcome.

One of the reviews states "in my opinion." I read this all the time in reviews or variations of this - "imo" and "imho." Of course it's your opinion, whose else would it be? It is such an unnecessary phrase.
