Prithviraj bids farewell to August Cinemas

Actor Prithviraj has been a part of August Cinemas along with internationally acclaimed director-cinematographer Santhosh Sivan and entrepreneur Shaji Nadesan ever since it was founded in 2011. Actor Arya later joined the production/distribution company that has produced seven films in Malayalam including Urumi, Indian Rupee, The Great Father and Anuraga karikkin vellam. Recently Prithviraj announced through Facebook that he would not be the part of the company anymore. He said that he has signed off from the Director Board and also added that he will always be with them a well wisher.

Maybe CNBC “Squawk Box” host Joe Kernen should look for a guest-starring role on the new sitcom “Dads.” He might be right at home on the Fox sitcom that has been criticized for racist jokes, given that he couldn’t let a mention of the Indian rupee pass without mocking Indians. On Friday’s episode, Kernen and his co-hosts, Becky Quick and Andrew Ross Sorkin, were discussing exchange rates across various foreign currencies. Quick mentioned that she had a few rupees in her wallet, left from a recent trip to the country. She showed them off to Sorkin and Kernen.

National Film Awards 2011: Winners: Deool, Byari, Aaranyakandam

Deool, Byari, Aaranyakandam, and the other winners of the 2011 National Film Awards have been announced. The 59th Annual National Film Awards, administered by the India’s Directorate of Film Festivals, is “the most prominent film award ceremony in India. Established in 1954, it is administrated by the Indian government’s Directorate of Film Festivals since 1973.
