Storyline

Resort town Fairmont's police chief Marnie Green was shot fatally in head and chest off duty, transported in her police car and dumped. She uncharacteristically arrested on false pretense Russian drug mob suspect Dimitri Zubov, while a petty cocaine customer was murdered the same time. She probably also knew the whereabouts of elusive St. Louis accountant Carmine O'Brien, an embezzler, whom Lisbon's kid brother, now a novice bail enforcement agency's bounty hunter, is after, which would be a public danger even without dragging along his teenage brat daughter, whom Jane teaches pickpocket techniques.
