Storyline

Carter, her team (including Fusco) and the organized crime unit are investigating what they know is an execution murder of a mob leader named Benny D'Agostino in a bodega in the Russian mob ruled area of Brighton Beach. The murder was the retaliation hit by the Russian mob on a rival mob infiltrating Brighton Beach, that rival mob led by an unknown man named Elias. D'Agostino was one of Elias' underlings. On the surveillance recording, Carter notices that there was a witness in the bodega who vanished after the shooting. Reese, who gets a call from Fusco about Reese possibly helping to identify and find this missing witness, is one step ahead of Fusco in that he knows that his and Finch's latest case is that witness, a dedicated local schoolteacher named Charlie Burton. Quotes

Harold Finch: Hello, Detective. I need to talk to you about our mutual friend.
Detective Lionel Fusco: Who's this? And who the hell is our mutual friend?
Harold Finch: I seem to recall you were going to take him to oyster bay once upon a time.
Detective Lionel Fusco: So you're his guy?
Harold Finch: No, Detective. I think that's your role. I've lost contact with him. Do you have any idea where he and the witness are now?
Detective Lionel Fusco: Yeah, somewhere in Brighton Beach. The Russians opened fire on them in broad daylight. Those two are going nowhere fast with this type of heat on them.

probably the best episode so far
5 November 2011 | by (Lithuania) – See all my reviews

Greetings from Lithuania.

"Witness" is probably the best episode of this truly great, realistic and gritty TV show, although i've really liked "Mission Creep" as well. Acting here is strong as always and Jim Caviezel steels the show as always. And this episode is soooo intense, action starts from the first second and keeps going till the end.

And what a great twist at the, didn't really saw that coming.

Really looking forward to the next episode of this extremely good TV show and actually, the best TV show in 2011.Jonathan Nolan and J.J.Abrams have created a truly original show.
