As robot pat malfunctions he sings "Daisy Daisy" this is a tribute to HAL in 2001: A Space Odyssey, as he was unplugged, HAL 9000 sang "Daisy Bell" .

The original reason is that in 1961, the IBM 7094, one of the the earliest and largest mainframe machines developed by IBM, became the first computer to sing, and the tune it warbled was "Daisy Bell."

The last of the trial robots at the beginning of the movie is a Dalek from Doctor Who. The previous robot is from Lost In Space. David Tennant played the 10th doctor in Dr. Who.

Patbot's Daisy Bell song is also a reference to BonziBUDDY and the Microsoft Agent test page which also had Daisy Bell in it alongside Happy Birthday (Not in the film).

There is a scene when Carbunkle is going to destroy Postman Pat from being famous, the Patbots were driving using the PAT-1 around the circle which is a reference to the BBC One idents from 2006 to present.
