One of the great talents working in Adult Cinema- Lesbian division is Elexis Monroe, an attractive hard-working performer who has built a loyal following over the last decade. She united with Nica Noelle and filmmaker Marda Caleeko (best known for her "Imperfect Angels" series) to create this rather thorough XXX portrait for their original label, Girlfirends Films. (Elexis directed a second volume that is even more fascinating and worthy of rediscovery).
Noelle appears briefly on screen at the outset, and interviews Elexis and several of her co-stars in between their vignettes. Anticipating the now-standard BTS bonus inclusions on DVD, she provides sort of "debriefing" interviews right after the sex scenes are completed, an interesting touch.
Our star does not come off as a diva, but rather a "sweat-equity" sort of talent who has worked her way up through the ranks and achieved popularity by merit. She is neither the most beautiful nor the most bombastic-figure among her colleagues, but does project an intangible sexiness that works well in the lesbian context; I've never seen her in a boy/boy scene.
Several of the segments feature acted story lines provided by Nica. Leighlani appears as the star's step-sister making for some quality incest action in a make-up session following a scene set-up of bickering. Irina is re-paired with Elexis (by popular demand) after they made a hit "Girls in White" video together. The exotic actress from Ukraine, Irina, is terrific and I'm surprised she had such a brief, unimpressive career in Adult.
Emilianna is another reliable co-star, but the video's revelation is basically a non-pro, Asian-American Dee Lilly, who is a real-life pal of Elexis and followed up this screen appearance with some fetish videos in a non-career.
Only drawback of this show is its extreme length, but that has been par for the course in porn lately - a trend I'm hoping will be reversed naturally with the push to vignettes as main XXX format (due to streaming's popularity). By definition a vignette could never run 4 hours, and I believe even something as interesting as An Evening with John Cleese as raconteur would become old after 3 hours or so.
