The Private Side of Carrie Fisher: Her Last At-Home Interview

28 December 2016 5:34 AM, PST | PEOPLE.com | See recent PEOPLE.com news »

Carrie Fisher was in bed when I arrived at her Beverly Hills home on November 11. Not because she was sick — although she had flown in from London the night before and was weathering a truly nasty cold — but because her bed offered her something of an oasis. It’s where she often wrote (always in longhand), slept and vied for blanket space with her beloved dog, Gary Fisher, who rarely left her side.

I was buzzed through her front gate, which was emblazoned with playful metal signs, among them “Beware of Crabs,” “No Swimsuits in Lobby” and “Ask Me About Medication Side Effects. »

Catherine Zeta-Jones and Michael Douglas Relax With Their Adorable Kids After Christmas

26 December 2016 1:24 PM, PST | Popsugar.com | See recent Popsugar news »

A photo posted by Catherine Zeta-Jones (@catherinezetajones) on Dec 25, 2016 at 6:59pm Pst Of all the ways to kick back after the holidays, a giant cuddle session on the couch is a great place to start. Catherine Zeta-Jones decided to do just that on Christmas when she got all tangled up with her adorable family after a day full of celebrating. She showed off the sweet moment in a black and white photo on Instagram, which she captioned "Totally laid back." Her 13-year-old daughter, Carys, cuddled up against doting dad Michael Douglas, while the Side Effects actress rested her head on her son, Dylan, 16. Over the last few years we've gotten plenty of glimpses of Catherine and Michael's cutest moments with their kids, including a red carpet premiere for Ant-Man in 2015 and a trip to see Bob Dylan and the Rolling Stones this October. It's almost as if they're growing up before our very eyes. »

DreamWorks pulls plug on new ghost movie at last minute

Joseph Baxter Sep 22, 2016

Juan Carlos Fresnadillo’s spectral thriller, Haunted, has been abruptly shelved by DreamWorks weeks before the start of production.

28 Weeks Later director Juan Carlos Fresnadillo’s ghost movie Haunted has just been given an exorcism by the very studio that greenlit the film earlier this year. While the production was mere weeks away from rolling cameras, it appears that a major disagreement over the direction of the script has suddenly derailed the project.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, DreamWorks has shut down the Haunted production after an apparent total rewrite of the script left the studio “deeply displeased.” DreamWorks initially greenlit the screenplay, an entry into the ghost genre said to be inspired by Henry James’s 1898 bellwether ghost story Turn Of The Screw, as written by twins Carey and Chad Hayes (The Conjuring). However, director Fresnadillo and Scott Z Burns (Side Effects, Contagion, The Bourne Ultimatum »

The 9th Life of Louis Drax review – weirdly watchable thriller

1 September 2016 3:45 PM, PDT | The Guardian - Film News | See recent The Guardian - Film News news »

Horror film-maker Alexandre Aja turns in a tonally odd supernatural thriller which hits its stride when creepy stuff starts to happen

Actor and screenwriter Max Minghella has adapted Liz Jensen’s 2004 novel for the cinema; horror specialist Alexandre Aja directs, and the result is a supernatural mystery thriller, slightly overcooked and tonally odd – and uncertain if its juvenile lead is supposed to be cute or sinister. But it is watchable and even intriguing in its weird way.

Canadian star Sarah Gadon is in full Hitchcock-blonde mode as Natalie Drax, the mother of a strange, accident-prone boy called Louis (Aiden Longworth). Poor Louis tumbles from a cliff, after a confrontation with his violent stepfather Peter (Aaron Paul) during a family picnic, but miraculously survives in a coma and comes under the care of Dr Allan Pascal (Jamie Dornan), a specialist in sleepwalking and consciousness while in a vegetative state. Creepy stuff starts happening. »

Daisy Ridley Eyes ‘Chaos Walking,’ ‘James White’ Director Jumps to ‘James Ellis,’ and More

5 August 2016 8:40 AM, PDT | The Film Stage | See recent The Film Stage news »

A popular trend for young, rising actors is to take on the Ya novel franchise, and Star Wars: The Force Awakens star Daisy Ridley is following suit. According to Variety, the young star has joined Lionsgate for an adaptation of Chaos Walking, which is set in a world where all living things can hear each other’s thoughts. The novel are a — wait for it — trilogy, so clearly the studio wants this thing to take off, but the big question will be if Ridley can balance it with the demands of the Star Wars saga commitment. Despite this traditional choice, however, Ridley continues to mix her growing filmography palette with interesting choices, as she can be heard narrating a documentary on a young Mongolian eagle huntress soon, as well as starring in a reimagining of Hamlet from Ophelia’s perspective.

"Over the years, I've been in conversations… I've been approached twice about doing a Bond film. And it never quite got anywhere. And ['Haywire'] in some ways, was my opportunity to do what I would do with a Bond movie."

It was a rushed opportunity though. The filmmaker had assembled a crew to shoot "Moneyball" but was then fired from the project. Not wanting to let his crew down, he scrambled to assemble another film which was when he saw "Haywire" star Gina Carano in an »
