Storyline

Never Underestimate a Girl with Nothing to Lose. Based on the groundbreaking, cult classic anime, KITE tells the story of Sawa (India Eisley,"The Secret Life of the American Teenager," Underworld: Awakening), a young woman living in a corrupt society where crime and gangs terrorize the streets. When Sawa's mother and policeman father are found victims of a grisly double homicide, she begins a ruthless pursuit for the man who murdered them. With the help of her father's ex-partner, Karl Aker (Samuel L. Jackson, Captain America: The Winter Soldier, The Avengers, Django Unchained), and a mysterious friend from her past (Callan McAuliffe, The Great Gatsby, I Am Number Four), she becomes a merciless teen assassin, blasting her way through the dark world of human trafficking only to uncover a devastating truth. gross.

terrible. i love anime. seen the original many times and this is just an insult. i have no clue what blackmail they used to get Sam Jackson to play in this movie but it is just a terrible movie. I am going to watch the anime again to wash away this sin. Did the director even watch the original? I just hope Yasuomi Umetsu doesn't see this. i feel this is just a total insult to the legend. i guess it is my fault for being so eager and having high hopes that this movie was going to be spectacular BUT i really should have seen who did the screen play and director before i held my breath. for the avid anime fans like myself: steer clear from this title.
