I truly love films usually the older the better. I was so excited to find this series on one of my passions. The disappointment in this series couldn't be greater.
The series is based on the book by director Mark Cousins. Besides several obvious factual mistakes (e.g. the location of the first movie theatre in NYC or misidentifying Joseph Cotton in Citizen Kane) his narration is so grating as to make this unwatchable.
While there were some new insights and valuable additions by the 3rd installment I had turned the sound off and resorted to using the closed captioning.
The series would have been well served if Cousins had used an actor or professional voice over talent. A different narrator, anyone else would have been a 100% improvement.
