Trivia

Joe Swanson originally had a son named Kevin, who was eventually written out of the series. His disappearance was later explained in "Stew-Roids" (#7.13) as that he had died in Iraq. Kevin later appears at the Griffins door in "Thanksgiving" where it's revealed he may have deserted from military, As at the very end of the show a guy claiming to be the REAL Kevin Swanson appears at the door to which Peter replies "I don't think there's time for this guys". Joyce Kinney: And we're back with our coverage of the Quahog Thanksgiving Day Parade.
Tom Tucker: Happy Turkey Day, Quahog. This is Tom Tucker and Joyce Kinney live at the parade. We've got some on-and-off drizzle here today and we're a little wet, as you can see, because apparently there are no awnings that exist anywhere. There's your top news story right there: mysterious awning shortage ravages the northeast. But miraculously has not affected Channels Two or Six!

Joe's son returns.......in a sea of beige.
16 October 2017 | by (Swansea, United Kingdom) – See all my reviews

Thanksgiving sees the Griffins entertaining the neighbours. Bonnie and Joe's son Kevin turns up from Iraq, having been feared dead, inconsistencies with Kevin's story see him reveal where he actually was.

The previous episode back to the pilot was such a success, following that was always going to be a challenge, and this one seems a bit forgettable in comparison. It's very much a political episode, with a definite message being told throughout.

A little similar to the recent episode with Quagmire's sister and violent brother in law, in that it feels the writer is using to show to express an opinion. It's watchable, but instantly forgettable.

What happened to the laughs? 5/10
