Susan Adams (Elisabeth Moss) is an emotionally damaged girl living with her abusive boyfriend Pete (Tim Guinee). Buddy Gilbert (Gavin Bellour) is her next door neighbor, and a musician with few followers. One day, he invites her on road trip as he plays in dive bars, coffee shops, and old age homes.
Gavin Bellour is a nice guy. Elisabeth Moss is playing a shy damaged girl. The romance is slow and sweet. There are a couple of good moments. However there are also a couple of badly written unnatural lines. It's nowhere near perfect. But Elisabeth is a magnetic presence. And she has a pretty voice. There are allusions to her abusive father but the subject is skimmed over. It's a sweet romance but it's a little lite.
