Same show, new possibilities
29 January 2017 | by (United States) – See all my reviews

The most exciting aspect of 'Wednesday' is the active-duty return of Officer John Cooper; a man reborn and back on the streets without apparent baggage. He's paired with a veteran (Lucy Liu), so Michael Cudlitz is able to let the character blossom and reveal the real cop underneath the uncompromising training officer. This has always been a bleak show, but to see him liberated and happy to be back is a delightful ray of, well, hope.

Lydia also gets a new partner - her best, thankfully. She and Reuben essentially ride in a car all day, but there's nice chemistry there.

IN some ways, this is the show just getting started. Sherman's a full patrolman, Cooper's free of pain and addiction, and the new characters seem to fit. It's a very positive direction in every way.

9/10
