'Toy Story 4' Wants Patricia Arquette as a Hippie Mother

Today we have word that the studio has begun casting, with Oscar-winning actress Patricia Arquette entering talks to join the voice cast. The Wrap reports that Patricia Arquette will play a laid-back hippie mother in the animated sequel, although no further character details were given.

When Toy Story 3 was released in 2010, the studio revealed that would be the final feature-length movie in the series. Toy Story 4: Everything We Know So Far

Disney/Wc

Whether you like it or not, Toy Story 4 is definitely happening.

Toy Story 3 was released in 2010 to critical claim, huge box-office success (it became the first animated feature to gross over $1bn) and, most importantly, seemed to tie an extremely neat bow on the franchise, giving what many fans thought was the perfect ending to the incredible trilogy that had played out over the past 15 years.

The characters have been brought back since then, in two television specials – Toy Story of Terror! and Toy Story That Time Forgot – as well as three shorts: Hawaiian Vacation, Small Fry, and Partysaurus Rex. Generally these have been met with praise, although the larger movie audience – the one that forked out all of those dollars on seeing the films – have stayed more or less ignorant of them, and they are fairly easy to forget about.

Now, though, they’re coming back to the big screen,

'Toy Story 4' Has Woody and Bo Peep in Love
Last November, Pixar made the announcement fans had been waiting four years for, that Toy Story 4 is finally happening. The studio often said that 2010's Toy Story 3 would be the franchise's last theatrical sequel, but the Toy Story gang has returned for a number of short films throughout the years, such as Toy Story: Hawaiian Vacation, Toy Story: Small Fry, Toy Story: Partysaurus Rex, Toy Story of Terror! and last year's Toy Story That Time Forgot. Before the D23 Convention got started today, director John Lasseter finally revealed new story details for the animated sequel, in an interview with CNBC.

"It's something we've never done before with Toy Story. It's a love story with Woody and - and this is news - Bo Peep. At Pixar and at Disney, we only make sequels if we come up with a story that's as good or better than the original.

'Toy Story 4' Finds John Lasseter a Co-Director

'Toy Story 4' Finds John Lasseter a Co-Director
Disney Pixar has announced that Josh Cooley, who served as head of story on this summer's Inside Out, will co-direct Toy Story 4, alongside John Lasseter. The sequel was first announced back in November, with the studio setting a June 4, 2017 release date and bringing on Rashida Jones and Will McCormack, who co-wrote Celeste and Jesse Forever, to write the screenplay. Here's what Josh Cooley had to say to Variety about Toy Story 4.

"To be co-director on Toy Story 4 with John, who brought the Toy Story characters to the screen 20 years ago, is a dream come true. When I first saw Toy Story I was amazed by the groundbreaking computer-generated animation. But it was the strong storytelling that kept me coming back. Toy Story 4 will continue that tradition and I couldn't be more excited to be a part of it!"

No voice actors have been confirmed, but Toy Story 4

Toy Story 4: what can we expect?

Can the post-Toy Story 3 shorts tell us anything about the upcoming direction of Pixar's Toy Story 4?

This article contains spoilers for Toy Story 3.

It seems to have become surprisingly tough to keep an open mind about Toy Story 4. Pixar have a mostly excellent track record in these things, especially when it comes to the Toy Story series. We struggle to think of a more consistently brilliant trilogy of films, so why were so many upset about the very real possibility of a fourth, also brilliant instalment, when it was announced last year?

Although some would cite the Cars films, or the impossible and yet still disappointing expectation that Monsters University would live up to Monsters Inc, it doesn't come down to anything so jaded. In all of the ways that Toy Story 3 is an excellent film, it's mostly because it feels like a near unimprovable conclusion to the series.

Skylanders Trap Team Small Fry in Walmart Buddy Pack with Hog Wild Fryno

Walmart has just released a second Skylanders Trap Team Buddy Pack, this one featuring Hog Wild Fryno and his diminutive partner in crime, Small Fry.

Hog Wild Fryno is already available to own as a standalone core Skylander figure. Small Fry, one of the new Skylanders Minis figures, is exclusive to this Walmart Buddy Pack until the next wave of Minis is released. Activision has not given any indication as to when those Minis might arrive, but a good bet is early next year.

The Hog Wild Fryno  and Small Fry Buddy Pack joins Gill Runt and Tidal Wave Gill Grunt, the first Buddy Pack that was also exclusive to Walmart and Walmart.com. It's unclear at this time whether a third or fourth Buddy Pack is in the works for a future release.

This second buddy pack is currently sold out at Walmart.com less than a day after Activision announced its availability.

'Toy Story 4' Set For June 2017 Release, John Lasseter To Direct

If you haven't learned by now, franchises are never really dead in Hollywood. They get remade, rebooted, spunoff, or reimagined, and for a series as lucrative as "Toy Story," it was only a matter of time before another movie was in the works. A year after the "final" movie, "Toy Story 3," hit, Tom Hanks revealed another movie is on the way. And while Pixar has focused on "Toy Story" shorts ever since ("Hawaiian Vacation," "Small Fry," "Partysaurus Rex") and a pair of holiday specials (2013's "Toy Story of Terror" and next month's "Toy Story That Time Forgot")... surprise, surprise a full sequel is coming. During their earnings call with investors this afternoon, Disney CEO Bob Iger announced "Toy Story 4" will arrive on June 16th, 2017. But perhaps more intriguing is that John Lasseter—now chief creative officer at Pixar, Walt Disney Animation Studios, and DisneyToon Studios...

John Lasseter will direct 'Toy Story 4' for 2017

John Lasseter will direct 'Toy Story 4' for 2017
One word, John Lasseter: Plastics. The Pixar chief who changed the animation game with his innovative use of computer technology in 1995's Toy Story will return to the directing chair to make a fourth movie about the adventures of Woody, Buzz, and the gang, Walt Disney CEO Robert Iger announced Tuesday. The film is set to hit theaters in June 16, 2017, and in a somewhat surprising twist it will be written by Rashida Jones, formerly of NBC's Parks and Recreation, and her screenwriting partner Will McCormack (who penned the 2012 indie romantic comedy Celeste and Jesse Forever.) The story was conceived,

'Toy Story 4' Officially Announced for June 16th, 2017

Well, it seems your favorite toys are returning.

Disney CEO Bob Iger, whose rocky rise to power is brilliantly detailed in James B. Stewart's must-read account of the Michael Eisner years "DisneyWar," just announced during an earnings report that "Toy Story 4" would be hitting screens on June 16th, 2017. And what's more: original "Toy Story" director John Lasseter is returning to helm the new film.

There are, of course, a couple of things to keep in mind here.

First of all, the "Toy Story" gang (led by Tom Hanks's Woody and Tim Allen's Buzz Lightyear) haven't exactly been absent from our hearts. Since "Toy Story 3," the supposed swansong, was released in the summer of 2010 and made us all cry like tiny babies, the characters have taken center stage in three short films ("Hawaiian Vacation" and the painfully hilarious "Small Fry" in 2011 and "Partysaurus Rex" in 2012) and two half-hour

Skylanders Minis Sneak Into Skylanders Trap Team

Remember the miniature Skylanders figures available exclusively via Frito Lay and GameStop promotions, the Sidekicks? The toys were cute, but in-game the characters would only follow along like a devoted puppy, unable to be controlled or do much of any good. They're coming back as Skylanders Minis and aside from obvious height challenges, these little guys are every bit as useful as their larger counterparts.

Activision and Toys for Bob are launching a total of 16 Skylanders Minis figures this fall including a mix of previously released Sidekicks and all-new figures and characters. Each is fully playable with their own unique upgrade tree so you can have, for example, Tree Rex and his Minis version Barkley fighting side-by-side. I've also heard the Minis will be able to Trap villains like the Trap Masters, which would make them all the more desirable to own.

The 16 Skylanders Minis complete list and their larger
