Kate approaches Daniel and asks for his help. It seems like a psychiatrist who was going to testify against a crooked insurance company was murdered. So she arranged for Daniel to act as a special master to go through the man's files to see if there's anything that can help with the case against the insurance company. Daniel wonders why she's not working on the man's murder; she says she's been ordered not go near it. Daniel goes through the files and finds what she needs but also thinks he knows why the man was killed; it seems he was trying a new treatment on his patients. Written by
