Casting Couch: Will Ferrell and Liam Neeson Play With Legos, Alan Arkin is the Latest for ‘Grudge Match,’ and More

9 November 2012 4:00 PM, PST | FilmSchoolRejects.com | See recent FilmSchoolRejects news »

What is Casting Couch? Today it’s proof that if you star in something about sexy young vampires, you will continue to get more work. Warner Bros.’ Lego movie already had names like Chris Pratt, Elizabeth Banks, Will Arnett, and Morgan Freeman signed for its voice cast, thus making a stupid-sounding idea suddenly seem promising, but now they’ve really gone and made Lego into a movie that you can start looking forward to. Deadline reports that the film has just added Will Ferrell to its cast as the bad guy, President Business, Liam Neeson as the bad guy’s main henchman, Bad Cop, Parks and Rec’s mustachioed Nick Offerman as a revenge-obsessed pirate, and Community’s cheery-voiced Disney Princess Alison Brie as a member of the protagonist’s team who holds a powerful secret. That may just be the weirdest/most fun cast ever assembled, and it almost makes up for the fact that the »

The Wrap reports that Ashley Greene (Twilight, The Apparition) has joined Hayley Bennett (Joe Dante's recent The Hole) in the film about a crew of college students who don't go home for the holidays and end up paying. As they're attacked over Thanksgiving break, one of the friends takes the lead and attempts to keep everyone safe, while uncovering just who's after them. One would imagine, given the title, some sort of ritual is going down.

Long gestating and previously known as Kristy, Oliver Blackburn (Donkey Punch) is now directing from a script by Anthony Jaswinski (partly responsible for Vanishing On 7th St). Satanic is expected August 30, 2013.  »

9 November 2012 8:28 AM, PST | cinemablend.com | See recent Cinema Blend news »

With Breaking Dawn . Part 2 bringing a close to the cross-demographic behemoth franchise that has long dominated the box office, the cast of Twilight is now seeking to shape their careers in the shadows of the characters that made them famous. For raven-haired ingénue Ashley Greene, this means soldiering down a path of horror she began in 2008 with a small role in the slasher comedy Otis. Since then, she's played the lead in the serial killer thriller Summer's Blood and the college-set ghost tale The Apparition, and so her next possible project seems a natural fit. The Wrap reports Greene is being considered for a role in The Weinstein Company's soon-to-shoot horror feature that was previously titled Kristy, but now boasts the more enticing and twisted title Satantic. Recently, rising starlet Haley Bennett had signed on to the film, and at the time producers described the flick as a psychological »
