The entire project was written, shot, edited and scored in less than 48 hours for the 2011 Los Angeles 48 Hour Film Project. All entries to the festival were required to include the following: A dust/hygienic mask as a prop, a character named Jeremy or Jenny North or Norbert (politician), and the line of dialogue "Please tell me that's not what I think it is."
During the montage sequence, when the camera pulls out to reveal the field littered with dead bodies, Courtney Hawkins can clearly be seen doubling as a dead body even though her character has not died. The filmmakers asked her to help "fill in" the corpses, not intending for her to be so recognizable.
