I think some people really need to lighten up a bit and just take this film for what it is, its a kids film but still enjoyable for the whole family to watch.
As in the first film, the set and Smurfs look great. The film is quite funny actually, Brendan Gleeson one of the main reasons why, as well as Gargamel's cat who made me chuckle. For me the storyline is slightly more developed than the 1st.
Overall I enjoyed this film although it could have been a bit shorter. The animation looks good, there's some good humour and also some really good special effects. Definitely a welcome addition, maybe slightly better than the 1st. Just enjoy it for what it is.
6/10 - good family fun.
