Studios Must Face Trimmed Lawsuit Over CG Characters in Blockbuster Movies

Disney, Fox, and Paramount got a mixed decision on Wednesday in a case that tests Hollywood's liability for using a technology determined to be stolen to create photorealistic computer graphic effects in huge films including Guardians of the Galaxy, Deadpool and Night at the Museum. A federal judge has rejected the plaintiff's bold copyright claim, but won't dismiss assertions that the studios induced patent infringement nor committed trademark infringement.

The lawsuit comes from Rearden LLC, a firm founded by Silicon Valley entrepreneur Steve Perlman that previously defended and then counterclaimed against Digital Domain 3.0 and the Chinese company, Shenzhenshi Haitiecheng...

‘Infinity Countdown: Adam Warlock #1′ Review

Written by Gerry Duggan | Art by Michael Allred

Gerry Duggan has quietly been reshaping the Marvel cosmic universe into its past glory. Back when series like Annihilation, Nova, and Guardians of the Galaxy where some of the best books in comics. This is a true prologue issue solely designed to provide hints for what is to come. When you have a character like Kang the Conqueror though

Marvel Comics is one of the biggest production companies in the film industry at the moment, and with its new release of Black Panther, it is only going to continue to make more money - and rightfully so. Dungeons and Dragons Remake Wants Nightwing Director

Dungeons and Dragons Remake Wants Nightwing Director
The Dungeons & Dragons movie may have found its director. What started as a tabletop roleplaying game in the 70s is being eyed as a major franchise, with Hasbro and Paramount teaming up to make it happen. With the movie locked in for a 2021 release date, the search for a director is on and now it looks like they have their sights sight on The Lego Batman and Nightwing director Chris McKay. No deal has been closed yet, but the director is currently in negotiations with the studio. Michael Gilio is set to pen the script.

Hasbro and Paramount extended the scope of their partnership late last year and will be teaming to bring more of the toy company's properties to the big screen outside of the Transformers movies, which may be getting a reboot after Bumblebee is released later this year. Though, that's a little unclear at the moment.

Disney had struck gold by acquiring Marvel a few years prior (“The Avengers” was the first superhero film distributed by the Mouse House) and in the wake of its financial,
