It's the morning of Bree Browning's first appearance on the local Melbourne morning television show "Hello Melbourne!". Bree, barely able to contain her excitement, introduces us to her new assistant Sumira, before Gary, Lisa and Brett pick her up to take her to the studios. Once there, not everything goes to plan however. In the meantime, it appears as if a budding romance is blooming between fellow losers in love, Jenny and Mark. After returning from a less than successful stint on the airwaves, Bree meets with two new clients, Joy and Bill. In their late fifties and looking to spice up their marriage, Bree decides to introduce them to a new "friend", Marco. Later that night Bree attends a photo shoot for the authors photo for the back sleeve of her book and bumps into her ex-husband Jim, a retired tennis doubles champion, who is now a professional photographer.
