quota quickie with interesting aspects
malcolmgsw17 December 2015
This is a quota quickly made at Bushey Studios. It operated spasmodically between 1913 and 1985.Apparently when it closed it was at that time the oldest operating film studio.Barry Lupino was the brother of Stanley but only made a few films. The second lead on the film titles was Mabel Poulton who played the maid. She was a very big star in the silent era but her stardom vanished with the coming of sound. Now she did have a comment accent. The problem was not that she was unintelligible but that anyone with a comment accent would be playing a maid,as in this film, and not a romantic lead.So the trivia listed here is incorrect. This was her last feature film.At the end we get to see St Pancras and Kings Cross stations which externally look little different today. The film is quite entertaining and totally undeserving of such a low mark.
