At the end of the episode, Ryan introduces the team to the U.S. Marshal who will be escorting Ben Lee into witness protection in Los Angeles. The whole point of the witness protection program is security and secrecy; only Ben's assigned marshal escort should know where he's going. If Ryan knows, Lee's location is compromised and, per WITSEC protocol, he would be immediately relocated with another new identity.
Ben Lee got into Witness Protection by pretending he was shot in front of his brother. But his family would need his body for his funeral.
In the first scene, Kate Beckett pronounces cement as see'-ment. According to the character's biography, Becket was born and raised in Manhattan. A real New Yorker would pronounce the word as seh-ment', as Castle did moments later.
Beckett tells Phillip Lee that Detective Ryan positively identified the gun as his old service weapon. This is practically meaningless. She should have said the ballistics matched the bullets from the victim.
