While not the epic 1959 Charlton Heston film, Ben Hur the miniseries does attempt to achieve television levels of epicness. And by channeling HBO’s Rome, this miniseries succeeds. The retelling of this religion-infused revenge saga turns out to be a not-terrible way to spend three hours. If it seems an odd time to be releasing a 2010 miniseries on DVD, it is probably related to the fact that nearly the entire cast has been featured in popular TV shows this season.

Who’S It For? Those who enjoyed History Channel’s The Bible or other similar adaptations might find some enjoyment in this Ben Hur miniseries. Anyone who is only interested in seeing what an updated take on the chariot race looks like should save themselves the trouble.

New York, NY – April 10, 2013 – Syfy is ordering a fourth season (13 episodes) of its hit drama series Being Human, it was announced today by Mark Stern, President of Original Content, Syfy and Co-Head of Original Content, Universal Cable Productions. The announcement comes on the heels of the Season 3 finale which aired Monday, April 8 and in time for Syfy’s Upfront presentation this evening in New York City.

The big news is that FX announced that the Fox Soccer channel will be turned into a sister channel of FX. Fxx will focus on younger viewers than FX. It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Legit and The League (which were all renewed for additional seasons) will move to the network along with Totally Biased with W. Kamau Bell, which will become a daily late night talk show. Combined, the two networks (along with the movie-focused Fxm channel) hopes to create 25 hours of original programming.

The Canadian channel Showcase has ordered a fourth season of its supernatural series Lost Girl. The show has consistently been Showcase’s number one scripted series and is an international hit.
“Lost Girl remains an anchor series for Showcase, and with its sharp writing and palpable cast chemistry, it has amassed a fan following second-to-none,” said Barbara Williams, Senior Vice President, Content, Shaw Media. “We are delighted to bring fans another season of the series and can’t wait to see where the creative team takes the story next.”
