Trivia
The squadron is flying the Tupolev Tu-2 bomber. It is considered by many authorities to be one of the best high-speed medium bombers of WWII, easily rivaling other comparable contemporary bombers, such as the Junkers Ju-88 flown by the Nazis. Designed by Andrey Tupolev in the late 1930s when he was a political prisoner, its success is credited as one of the factors that led to his early release in 1944.

Goofs
The main plot device, the deployment of a V-2 rocket to hit Moscow, fails because of several factors. It is implied that the story takes place during the summer of 1943. The V-2 was still undergoing tests, and the first offensive use was in September, 1944, a year after the appearance in the movie. Besides, with a range of 320 km, it wouldn't have been able to reach Moscow, which is about 620 km from the Bobruisk area.

It's such a big surprise to me to see the number of people vote, and their marks about this film. Then, i realize that maybe it's a Russian film - which is not so popular in the Western. And it's about the WW2 and the Soviet, so people expect to see cruel stuffs of the Soviet gor, not something else. I can smell it 'cause im from a socialist country. To be frank, this film is not a propaganda one. An it should be received more attention from the West. It's based on a novel, so there's nothing to complain about the story line. The film contains many beautiful image, and the music is perfect. The only thing that i don't like is that the scenes change so quickly. If you don't mind watching a 3-hour long film, you should spend your time on this one. I can guarantee that you wont regret it.
