  Lana Lang Cushing : Superman has lost his powers, and he will not be coming to save us today.

  Ex-Mayor George Dean : Well, that's convenient. I suppose that means we have to rely on you to save us.

  Aidy Manning : So they did lie to us?

  Lana Lang Cushing : Yeah, and I don't wanna do that. I want you all to be prepared for the crisis that we are all facing. As I understand it, there is another world like ours, an inverse world. And that red sun in our sky is their sun.

  [as the townspeople react] 

  Lana Lang Cushing : I know. I know. Just let me finish. And there is something that wants to combine our world with theirs. And soon... soon, you are gonna see people from that other world; doppelgangers, 'kay? And I need you to understand that you must avoid them at all costs.

  Chuck Arden : Doppelgangers? The hell are you talking about?

  Lana Lang Cushing : It's a lot, but you have to trust me.

  Ex-Mayor George Dean : Trust you?

  Chrissy Beppo : She's telling the truth.

  Ex-Mayor George Dean : Then why haven't you published any of this in your paper?

  Lana Lang Cushing : Because I asked Chrissy not to. I wanted you all to hear it from me first.

  Ex-Mayor George Dean : Well, it sounds like you two are in cahoots.
