Halo 4 is the start of a new saga in the Master Chief's story. This saga is known as the Reclaimer Saga. At the end of the legendary mode of Halo 3 we see Master Chief Petty Officer John-117 orbiting a planet and hear him say to Cortana "Wake me when you need me". Well now is the time to be needed. The game starts where you last left off in a torn in half ship orbiting a planet around four years after the events of Halo 3. John wakes up to Cortana screaming "John I need you!" This creates the beginning of a new saga. In Halo 4 we see a new breed of enemies called the Prometheans. The Prometheans are AIs created by the Forerunners to protect a planet. Unfortunately you're seen as a threat. However despite being made by the Forerunners the Prometheans have a much darker and more sinister plot. Cortana: [Distorted] They don't care about you! They replaced you!
Cortana: Blast it!
Master Chief: It's OK.
Cortana: How? How is it OK? How is putting you at risk because I can't keep it together OK? Chief... do you even know what rampancy is? We don't just 'shut down'. Our cognitive processes divide exponentially according to our total knowledge base. We literally think ourselves to death.
Master Chief: You know I won't let that happen.
Cortana: And if it happens anyway?

The elephant in the corner, of the American movie industry.
4 January 2013 | by (Denmark) – See all my reviews

Considering the loads of nothingness that has been poured from the American movie industry the last couple of years I have to almost exclaim: How in the name of everything that has ever been anything in and beyond this world did Halo 4: Forward unto dawn NOT make it into the theaters?! This may not be an exceptional piece of art, but it beats the living juhaa out any action/sci.fi I have seen in a while. Discounting, for a moment, the excellent directing and very convincing acting that is pretty much constant through the 90'ish minutes movie, the filming and especially special effects needs to at least demand a couple of nominations at the Oscars. Except from a VERY brief encounter with the very first Halo game back in the day I was completely oblivious to the Halo universe before seeing this movie. This proved to be of no concern as towards following the story of the movie, in which one constantly gets a little closer to both the main characters of the movie and the back story of Halo. It is a great introduction to the universe of Halo and as a movie I gladly rank it beside some of the top Sci.fi's of this century so far.
