Trivia

Before leaving the doomed Earth, Professor Farnsworth says: "So long, Earth, and thanks for nothing". This is a reference to the "So long, and thanks for all the fish" message left by dolphins when they also evacuated the doomed Earth in the sequel of "Hitchhiker's Guide To Galaxy" book (which hasn't been adapted to a movie as of yet). Goofs

All electronic devices on earth were disrupted because of the solar activity yet Bender, robot policemen, and the "Choosematron" were still able to function. Bender explains this by revealing that he switched to winding power. The others must have also been switched to some alternative power source. See more »

Quotes

Philip J. Fry: [as his pants fly away on the weather balloon] My lucky pants!
Bender: They don't look so lucky to me.
Philip J. Fry: They are too lucky! I was wearing them when I found a dime in my ear, when I got a free subscription to Redbook, and when I first met Leela.
Turanga Leela: Aw. Also, Oh lord!
Philip J. Fry: Also, they're my only pants.
Bender: You wore the same pants for a thousand years? No wonder they made a run for it.
