Storyline

Nolan proves himself an invaluable ally by preventing Victoria outbidding 'Emily' for the Southampton beach-house she wants as HQ for sentimental reasons. His firm's latest major deal also provides her the means to lure Bill Harmon into ruining his hedge fund. Victoria's hunky Harvard son Daniel quickly falls for Emily, but that inspires Victoria to hire a P.I. for a thorough check-up, which reveal the two year (prison) gap between Amanda and the fake Emily persona. Jack Porter has to sell his treasured yacht to Nolan to pay father's debts, but is offered a generous escape. His kid brother Declan's plan to score a date with Charlotte on it falls trough, rival Adam Connor's preppy mates gang up beastly on the poor puppy and their father Carl has a cardiac crisis. Goofs

Given how sharp and intelligent Frank is, it is unlikely he didn't recognize Emily from the party 10 years back. He interacted with her for quite some time and even shooed her away from the pool house while he murdered Roger Halstead. Frank is head of security, so it should have occurred to him that Emily looks just like the waitress at the Grayson's party some years back. See more »

Quotes

Emily Thorne: Trust is a difficult thing, whether it's finding the right people to trust or trusting the right people to do the wrong thing. But trusting your heart is the riskiest thing of all. In the end, the only person we can truly trust is ourself.

Emily new's target: Bill Harmon
1 October 2011 | by See all my reviews

This episode was a lot of fun to watch, but the plot was not as good as the pilot. I thought it was a little unrealistic that Bill would tell everyone in his company to invest on AllCom Cellular, based on a tip from Emily whom he only met the previous day, just because he saw her with Nolan. It would have been better if Emily's plan was a bit more complex and mind-boggling. Also, we never find out how Emily got Bill's ID card or even got into the building when no one was around. Nevertheless, it was still fun watching the demise of Bill. I also found the character of Nolan to be more witty and interesting as compared to the pilot episode.

My main concern with this show in general is that I don't know how they will last past one season, if they only continue this format of Emily taking her revenge on one person per episode. There would have been like, what, 20 to 30 people max that implicated Amanda's father, so I think the writers should start focusing on starting other story lines which doesn't revolve around Emily taking revenge for her father, but say, another character like Victoria, Jack or even Nolan taking their revenge out on someone for some other reason.

Overall, I still love this show, and enjoyed this episode, but I think they need to kick it up a notch and make the plots more complex.
