Vanessa Hudgens has joined the cast of “Second Act,” the upcoming romantic comedy starring Jennifer Lopez.

Antonio Banderas to Star as Pablo Picasso in ‘Genius’ Season 2 at Nat Geo

6 September 2017 8:55 AM, PDT | Variety - TV News | See recent Variety - TV News news »

Antonio Banderas has signed on to star as Pablo Picasso in National Geographic’s “Genius” Season 2, Variety has learned.

The artistic career of Pablo Diego José Francisco de Paula Juan Nepomuceno Crispín Crispiniano María Remedios de la Santísima Trinidad Ruiz Picasso spanned more than 80 years. His work challenged and reinvented the world’s perceptions of art and creativity. The prolific artist generated an estimated 50,000 works, among the most notable being “The Old Guitarist” from his Blue Period, now on display at the Art Institute of Chicago; “Guernica,” inspired by the Nazi bombing of a small Spanish town of the same name, recently displayed at the Museo Reina Sofia in Madrid; and “Les Demoiselles D’Avignon,” now on display at the Museum of Modern Art in New York City.

In addition, the artist’s personal life was equally intriguing. He lived most of his life in Paris during the first half of the 20th century and crossed paths »

‘Daddy’s Home 2’ Trailer: Mel Gibson Joins The Family

6 September 2017 6:36 AM, PDT | The Playlist | See recent The Playlist news »

Mel Gibson‘s comeback hasn’t quite hit the mainstream. While “Hacksaw Ridge” saw the actor/filmmaker back in the awards spotlight, he remained behind the camera for the grisly WWII drama. Thus far, in front of the camera, he’s mostly stuck to genre flicks like “Blood Father,” “Get The Gringo,” “The Expendables 3,” and “Machete Kills.” Well, now he’s hoping to be hugged by the public once again with a little help from Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg.

James Cameron praises Alien: Covenant, calls it “beautiful”

15 August 2017 2:04 PM, PDT | Flickeringmyth | See recent Flickeringmyth news »

James Cameron has spoken well of Alien: Covenant, calling it a “beautiful” film.

Ridley Scott’s latest effort in the iconic Alien franchise, Alien: Covenant, hasn’t performed as well as expected with either fans or critics. It has been pretty divisive among fans of the franchise, much like its predecessor, Prometheus.

However, James Cameron, who, of course, famously directed Aliens, has commented on Covenant, speaking fondly of it for the most part.

“I thought that Alien: Covenant was a great ride. It was beautiful. I love Ridley’s films, I love his filmmaking; I love the beauty of the photography. I love the visceral sense that you’re that, that you’re present. It’s not a film that I would have made. I hope I’m not spoiling this for anybody, but I don’t like films where you invest in a character and they get destroyed at the end. »

Ridley Scott’s Alien: Covenant gets an Honest Trailer

8 August 2017 2:13 PM, PDT | Flickeringmyth | See recent Flickeringmyth news »

Screen Junkies has unveiled its Honest Trailer for Ridley Scott’s Prometheus sequel / Alien prequel Alien: Covenant; check it out below…

When Ridley Scott wanted to wank about the meaning of life for two hours, he gave us Prometheus. Now, he’s back with a good old fashioned alien flick that returns to it’s Sci-Fi, horror roots — until it takes a sharp left turn into the same wank job territory as the last one.

In a franchise full of unforgettable characters, experience a chapter where No One stands out — except maybe Kenny Powers. And meet the crew of The Covenant, married couples who you completely forget are married until someone says, “my wife.”

Ride along and experience a bad sci-fi script in the hands of a visual genius as you enjoy shot after epic shot while ignoring how all the tech looks way more advanced in the prequel.

Amber Heard and Elon Musk have called it quits.

The stars’ whirlwind, date-filled romance has come to an end a little more than a year after they were first linked last summer, a source tells People.

“They are no longer dating,” says the source.

According to the source, Heard and Musk’s increasingly busy schedules contributed to the split.

“They had fun for a few months, but are both very busy with work now. It was getting hard to find time to see each other,” says the source, adding that Musk initiated the split. “Elon’s is working day and night. »

Ridley Scott may use CG to add Ellen Ripley into his Alien prequels

16 July 2017 12:14 PM, PDT | Flickeringmyth | See recent Flickeringmyth news »

Although the disappointing box office returns for Alien: Covenant may have harmed Ridley Scott’s hopes of a further four entries in his Alien saga. However, it seems he still intends on at least one more instalment to bring the franchise full circle, and during a recent Q&A he has now suggested using CGI to bring Sigourney Weaver’s Ellen Ripley back into the series.

“We’re heading toward the back end of the first Alien so [using CG] may be feasible. I don’t think it’ll… but Ripley’s going to be somebody’s daughter. Obviously. We’re coming in from the back end. The time constraints, of what’s the time between this film, where we leave David going off heading for that colony, I think you’re probably two films out from even considering her.”

The trailer has arrived for Charlie Sheen's 9/11 film

Kirsten Howard Jul 26, 2017

A few weeks back, we discovered that Charlie Sheen had made a film about 9/11. Now we have a trailer for it...

9/11, Charlie Sheen's first film since 2013's Machete Kills, is due out later this year.

See related  The Bourne Identity: the battle to make the first film

Although it's helmed by National Lampoon's Cattle Call director Martin Guigui, 9/11 is not...supposed to be...a comedy. It is in fact based on the Patrick Carson stage play Elevator, constructed using voicemails that victims of the two towers attack left in their last moments, and the story of Sheen's film features an incident where five people become trapped in a lift together in the North Tower and work as a team to find a means of escape before the building inevitably collapses.

There's now been a first trailer released for the film, and any preceding commentary we »

Prometheus screenwriter on where Ridley Scott’s next Alien movie could go

9 June 2017 3:20 AM, PDT | Flickeringmyth | See recent Flickeringmyth news »

Although Alien: Covenant failed to set the box office alight – having grossed just $176.5 million following its release last month – it seems that Ridley Scott still has plans to further explore the universe, with the filmmaker suggesting he’s keen on “one or two” more instalments in the sci-fi series.

Speaking to Collider, Prometheus screenwriter Damon Lindelof has been talking about where the franchise could go next based on his conversations with Scott as to the “end game” they envisioned when developing the 2012 Alien prequel.

“I think that one of the conversations that we had at the end of Prometheus is, Shaw and David have basically locked in on the coordinates of the planet where the Engineers came from. What does that place look like? Ridley called it ‘Paradise’. What happens when they land on that planet? It doesn’t feel like they’ve gotten there yet in Covenant, Covenant felt »
