- Open with Brittany (Heather Elizabeth Morris) speaking with a new Irish student she clearly thinks is a leprechaun. She wants him to grant her a wish, making her a box of Lucky Charms with only marshmallows.
Quinn (Dianna Agron) and Puck (Mark Salling) give Shelby (Idina Menzel) concealer to help with the bags under her eyes. They want to babysit for Beth to help her out.
On the latest Sue's Corner she rallies against the budget of West Side Story. She doesn't think the school can afford $2,000 for a musical during such uncertain times.
Due to pressure caused by Sue's TV speech, Figgins (Iqbal Theba) has to pull the funding for the musical. Will (Matthew Morrison) still has the flexibility to find money himself.
Mercedes (Amber Riley) recruits Santana (Naya Rivera) to join her in Shelby's choir, which will be all-girl group. She always wants her to bring Brittany. Finn (Cory Monteith) overhears this.
Will and the Glee kids talk about Mercedes leaving and the musical losing funding. Blaine (Darren Criss) thinks they should try and move past the setbacks. Finn tries to shut him up. Will says the plan is to sell ads in the program. Kurt (Chris Colfer) volunteers to spearhead the efforts.
Finn stops by and sees the Irish kid, who tells him he's foreign exchange student Rory Flanagan. He mentions Brittany told him if he grants her three wishes, she'll let him get into her pot of gold. He doesn't have many friends and asks if Finn will be his. Finn agrees on the condition he helps him keep an eye on Santana.
The second Shelby leaves, Quinn begins planting things designed to get Child Protective Services to take Beth away. Puck doesn't like it, but he says he does want to get Beth back.
Kurt tells Burt (Mike O'Malley) about the money situation. An angry Burt recruits several local business owners who donate the money. He brings the money to Figgins. On the way out he runs into Sue (Jane Lynch) and threatens to go after her campaign. She's not intimidated.
Rory lies to his mother on the phone and tells her he's having a great time. He gives Brittany the cereal box. She tells him her next wish is her cat starts pooping the candy bars she feeds him. Rory sings "It's Not Easy Being Green" as we see just how tough he has it fitting in at McKinley.
Santana want to know if she and Brittany are actually dating, then says she's thinking of joining Shelby's choir but won't unless Brittany comes with her. Brittany needs time to think.
Quinn wants Puck to quit the pool cleaning job he loves. She's called CPS and thinks they need to start making more money when they get Beth back.
Shelby tells Puck she's recommended him for a year-round job cleaning pools at her condo.
Will tells the kids about the money being raised to keep the musical going. Blaine asks for the chance to remind everybody what this is all about. He helps lead them in "Last Friday Night." Santana complains afterwards Blaine will replace Mercedes as a featured voice and the rest of them won't get a shot.
An angry Santana tells Rory he's going to grant her a wish.
Rory tells Brittany that Santana found out about him and wished she would join the other choir.
Will drops by Burt's garage to ask him to run against Sue. He's already looked into the idea. He will have to run as a write-in candidate. Burt thinks art can save lives, like his son's. Will wants to be his campaign manager.
Puck shows up at Shelby's door and thanks her for believing in him. While there, he removes the stuff Quinn planted to get her in trouble. He sings a version of "Waiting for a Girl Like You" to help Beth calm down. After Beth goes down, shelby talks about how hard it is to raise a kid by herself. She's upset she has nobody to share the experiences with. Puck offers his help if she ever needs it.
Rory gives Finn a head's up. Brittany is leaving. In trying to convince her to stay, Finn slips and calls Brittany an idiot. She and Santana are out of New Directions.
Burt is given equal time on the local TV station. He points out how much the Cheerios spend and makes the point arts are the way to invest in the future. He formally announces his campaign.
Shelby and her new foursome select Troubletones as their new name. They perform "Candyman." Finn and Will watch the song. They seem very concerned.
Finn tells the Troubletones he was impressed with what he saw. He apologizes to Brittany. She accepts. Rory stops by to claim his pot of gold. Brittany says she knows leprechauns don't exist. Santana tells him to get lost.
Finn and Kurt tell Burt and Carole (Romy Rosemont) they are behind his decision to run, even if it could men he'll have to move to Washington. Sue drops by their table. She gives Burt a giant hamburger. Her new tactic is to push - Glee's budget could be better used for special education programs.
Finn stops the hockey guys from bullying Rory. He says he'll grant him a wish.
Finn brings Rory to the next Glee meeting. He says he sings in church and loves American music. To show them his talent he sings "Take Care of Yourself." Rachel (Lea Michele) whispers to Finn "he's magical."
The episode ends with Puck kissing Shelby.
