The contentment of community turns upside down as an American film crew invades its serenity. Seduction, greed, and betrayal devastates them all.
I recently saw this film in its world premier at the Toronto Film Festival. Always Brando is a film that takes you on a deep reflective journey . The lack of predictability makes it fascinating as it moves from theme connected documentary and narrative into a deeper level of philosophy. It is beautifully shot against the majestic Tunisian landscape. The light and color add a tremendous value to the otherwise deliberately scarce elements. The acting varies amongst the actors. Some are very good and others are not so good. The direction is thought provoking yet tender. The audience at Tiff seemed to enjoy it very much as many had stayed for the QA with the director. All in all it is a film worth seeing for the freshness of the structure and the depth of the vision.
