Storyline

Yann escapes arrest and again after bumping into the procurator's carriage. He sneaks into the castle to convince Agnes of his innocence and undying love, but finds her embittered and on her husband's side. The marquis blackmails de Villeneuve into a 'three-way' partnership to search for the Kermelec treasure, with his pet parrot as 'the brains'. Then the marquis cues him to have the only cue from the grave of the admiral who stole the riches from the Aztecs, a pagan idol, assessed by an expert antiques dealer and fence, regretting him being killed afterward, fed to his own piranhas. Yann's crew was arrested in their cave shelter and resisted torture, but despairs when told their captain is arrested again, but in fact de Vileneuve murdered and scarred a soldier to pretend the Sparrow-hawk is eliminated.
