"I've got to talk to her, let her know I didn't abandon her"

It's probably for the best that Xavier and Kelly decide to stay friends, although it's debatable how long they'll manage to stick to it for, given all the longing looks Xavier keeps casting her.John's scene with Xavier is one of many oddly pitched moments:His crowing over Xavier's inability to stay away from Kelly is a delight but his attempts at fatherly advice feel a bit forced. For anyone missing Xavier and April's relationship, there's some nice interaction between them here which underlines how well the characters work together.

Unfortunately, April doesn't work particularly well without Xavier:The only other scene she's in sees her make some uncalled for remarks to Liam and wreck his and Bianca's reunion. It's a shame because Liam and Bianca's scenes up until then are rather sweet and there's a nice continuity nod with the mention of Ash but it ends up with Liam joining April on the hypocrite step.

There's also a plot line about Alf having Marilyn and Roo for dinner but it doesn't really progress the plot and the best thing about it is Miles responding to a mass walkout by wondering if he can have more tart.
