When local diver Benjamin Lightfoot is pulled out of the sea dead it is clear he has been murdered. The night before he had argued with his brother and his boss Phil Owen suspected he was in an affair with Phil's wife Alex, who had lent Benjamin money as he was in debt to heavy people. With Camille in France and Poole struck down with fever Angela Young,a bored, holidaying policewoman takes over the case but her rudeness and lack of progress send constables Dwayne and Fidel running to Poole behind her back. Fortunately he rises from his sick-bed to give Young a lesson in detection and prevent a miscarriage of justice. Written by don @ minifie-1

Avoid this episode of an otherwise great show! Terrible terrible acting
25 January 2013 | by (United Kingdom) – See all my reviews

I am writing this review as love this series, which is generally well acted and written.

However, avoid this episode at all costs!! The acting by Shirley H appearing as Guest star is appalling, very amateur dramatic and her accent seems to change all the time. I don't understand why the shows producers would risk an episode of an otherwise good series by removing the two main characters and then introducing an annoying unprofessional shrill guest "star" . The plot premise is also poor, surely we are watching the show for the two main characters to have them both "missing" from the main action is a little odd so early in the series development.

I know the replacement character is meant to be annoying - that uncertainly achieved! Unfortunately through bad acting and unintelligible speech, rather than any design of screen writing. Very poor indeed!!!! I cannot understand who thought this actor would add to the show in episode 7. BBC who agreed to this casting!!!!
