An Independent Gem

I was invited to attend a Screening of a new Vancouver Independent Film on January 7, and was pleasantly surprised. Anyone familiar with me knows my high professional values when performing, or how I will walk out of a boring Film. These no/low productions can be amusing at times and even interesting, but the lower cost production values with inexperienced Actors and Crew usually make it obvious the money trail was short. "The Wingman" (2011) is the most refreshing exception to the rule I've ever seen. The Cinematography was beautiful, as the scenery and many Looks of Vancouver are the reason it has such a large Tourist Industry, and has been the 3rd largest Film Centre in North America for twenty years. That being said, many Scenes are Interiors, but lit by a definite professional, and with flawless Set Design. The music itself said much larger production, and and I know this because I wasn't paying attention to any of those things. I was transfixed by the engaging storyline, and deeply connected characters. It is a mature script and by being well Directed keeps you interested and caring about these people. The only insight I will give is that it is funny, and you will leave this Film smiling and a little bit wiser.
