Afm: Epic Pictures acquires 'Badsville'
Exclusive: April Mullen’s gang drama to be introduced at Afm.

Epic Pictures has acquired Below Her Mouth director April Mullen’s follow-up Badsville and will introduce to international buyers at the Afm and distribute in the Us towards the end of the year.

Co-founder Shaked Berenson and CEO Patrick Ewald want to feed the pipeline of distribution division Epic Pictures Releasing and director of Us distribution Paula Moreno will be scouring the Afm for acquisitions.

Emilio Rivera of Sons Of Anarchy and Robert Knepper of Prison Break star in Badsville, a crime thriller set in the working class greaser gang milieu.

The story centres on a gang leader who risks everything when he makes a promise to his dying mother and tries to leave his old life behind.

Ian McLaren and Benjamin Barrett co-wrote the script and are among the cast. Producers are David J. Phillips of Phillm Productions and Douglas Spain.

The Vicious Brothers Return to Horror with Extraterrestrial

The Vicious Brothers, Colin Miniah and Stuart Ortiz (Grave Encounters), return to horror with Extraterrestrial. This space based tale involves a young woman recovering from her parent's divorce and an alien race, who like to abduct the most vulnerable. Fantasia Film Fest announces full line-up

Following previous announcements of their film lineup, the Fantasia International Film Festival has released their full lineup of movies to be shown at the 18th Annual festival, starting July 17.

New additions to the lineup include 2014 Cannes Selection When Animals Dream, directed by Jonas Alexander Amby and the return of Fantasia’s showcase of animated films, Axis.

Tickets for the festival go on sale starting July 16, and the festival runs through August 5.

The Vicous Brothers Bring An Alien Encounter with Extraterrestrial to the Tribeca Film Festival

The Vicious Brothers, Colin Minihan and Stuart Ortiz (Grave Encounters), have completed a sci-fi horror feature titled Extraterrestrial. Expectedly, the film involves an alien crash landing and several disappearances. Five friends must battle an out-of-this-world presence to survive their camping trip. Extraterrestrial will debut at the Tribeca Film festival April 18th, 2014, in New York City. The film stars Brittany Allen (Dead Before Dawn 3D), Freddie Stroma, Melanie Papalia, Jess Moss and Anja Savcic. For more on the story, five friends head out into the local woods for a hike. Aliens are looking for new specimens and these creatures begin to capture several locals, while searching for the friends. A crazed townie leads the characters to a crash site, which is the source of the trip's chaos. Extraterrestrial is sure to bring a strong showing to its premiere. Dead Before Dawn 3D to Release Havoc in 32 Canadian Theatres October 30th, 2013 (Devil's Night)!

Director April Mullen's Dead Before Dawn 3D will debut in several Canadian theatres, for one night only! This showing takes place on Devil's Night, October 30th, 2013. Dead Before Dawn 3D is a film about Zemons: half zombie and half demons. Also, this title stars Christopher Lloyd (Back to the Future), Devon Bostick (Diary of a Wimpy Kid), Martha MacIsaac and Tim Doiron. Horror fans can preview this special cinematic presentation here. When are horror movie characters going to learn that taunting evil spirits only causes trouble? For the sake of horror movies, probably never, as Dead Before Dawn 3D continues the tradition of gathering a group of non-believing high schoolers and thrusting them into a cursed scenario. At least writer Tim Doiron and director April Mullen attempted to have fun with the genre, literally making their own horror curse off the top of their head. Know what a “Zemon” is? Ever hear of a horror monster that attacks by giving you hickies? Want to see a hot cheerleader make out with the undead? No? Too bad.
