18 May 2017 11:01 AM, PDT | Blogomatic3000 | See recent Blogomatic3000 news »

Horror Channel has eight prime-time weekend film premieres in June including the UK premieres of Retreat, Carl Tibbets’ ‘ménage a trois of terror’ starring Thandie Newton, Cillian Murphy and Jamie Bell and R.D. Braunstein’s smartly gripping I Spit On Your Grave 3: Vengeance Is Mine – widely seen as the best of the series.

There are also network premieres for Jennifer Lynch’s uncompromising and dark chiller Chained, William Malone’s gruesome cyber thriller Feardotcom, starring Stephen Dorff and Natascha McElhone and Michael Reeves’s highly acclaimed Witchfinder General, starring Vincent Price.

In a deadly virus catching month, other highlights are first channel showings for John Pogue’s [Rec] inspired scareline Quarantine 2: Terminal, Breck Eisner’s critically-acclaimed remake of George Romero’s 1973 movie, The Crazies and James Cameron’s directorial debut Piranha 2: The Spawning starring Lance Henriksen and plenty of flying killer fish.

Fri 2 June @ 21:00 – Quarantine 2: Terminal (2011) *Network Premiere*

Q&A: ‘Adult Babies’ creator Joanne Mitchell talks all things horror

20 January 2017 3:01 AM, PST | Blogomatic3000 | See recent Blogomatic3000 news »

Adult Babies gets an exclusive reveal at Horror Channel FrightFest Glasgow 2017, in anticipation of the event, actress / producer Joanne Mitchell – star of Before Dawn and Bait; and creator of Adult Babies – answers 10 scary questions…

When did your fascination for horror films begin?

I’ve been interested in horror since being a young kid. I liked to be frightened, whether it be reading a scary book, or watching one of the Hammer House of Horrors. But it wasn’t until my 30’s that I really became fascinated with the whole genre after making ‘Before Dawn’ and watching back to back movies at FrightFest!! The fans are so loyal and open minded and really know their stuff.

What was the first horror film you saw?

I’m pretty sure it was ‘The Thing’. If I remember rightly my brother and his mates had managed to get a copy and I snuck in! »

All-Female Directed Anthology, ‘Xx’, Releases Trailer

11 January 2017 10:07 AM, PST | Destroy the Brain | See recent Destroy the Brain news »

Xx is something we have mentioned back in 2013, which included a different line-up. Now, ahead of the Sundance 2017 premiere, we get a trailer to tease us on what we’re going to get!

Xx is a new all-female helmed horror anthology featuring four dark tales written and directed by fiercely talented women: Annie Clark (St. Vincent) rocks her directorial debut with The Birthday Party; Karyn Kusama (The Invitation, Girlfight) exorcises Her Only Living Son; Roxanne Benjamin (Southbound) screams Don’T Fall; and Jovanka Vuckovic (The Captured Bird) dares to open The Box. Award-winning animator Sofia Carrillo (La Casa Triste) wraps together four suspenseful stories of terror featuring a cast including Natalie Brown, Melanie Lynskey, Breeda Wool and Christina Kirk.

Hopefully, most of you reading this should be familiar with the talent behind the camera. Annie Clark is marking this project with her directorial debut but she is also known as St. Vincent. »
